Privacy Policy

What we collect: Budget Buddy does not require an account to use. All budget data, expenses, and savings goals you enter are stored locally on your device using your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

AI features: When you interact with Skippy (our AI financial coach), your budget summary is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate personalized responses. This includes category names, budget amounts, and spending totals — never your name, bank details, or personal identification. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to these interactions.

Analytics: We may collect anonymous, aggregate usage analytics (such as which features are used most) to improve the app. This data cannot be used to identify individual users.

What we do not collect: We do not collect your name, email address, bank account information, Social Security number, or any financial account credentials. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Children: Budget Buddy is intended for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes: We may update this policy as the app evolves. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
